Quick and Easy Flag Banner

As we count down to the 4th of July holiday, I am running out of time to finish some projects.  But I did manage to cut, sew AND finish this flag banner.  The pattern is one from Cut Loose Stars and Stripes and it uses a small amount of fabric.

Here is my finished flag banner on my front door. My first color choices for the dark and medium blue are in the scrap bin.  I am usually pretty good inpicking out colors and fabrics but in the end- my favorite Grunge by Basic Grey won this battle.

I also was able to use the edge to edge stars large design and embroidered 5 repeats skipping the last part of the design to avoid the blue sashing on the flag.

I also did embroidered her table runner for July and it fits perfect on my front hutch.  Here it is in the store.

Here is Off Road Project with a placemat, hot pad and even coasters from the Stars and Stripes cd.

Normally this is only offered through quilt stores such as ours, but you can now purchase it through her ONLY UNTIL July 4th.

There is also a link for the free stars file that she mentions in the video to quilt the hot pad and placemats.  I may or may not get them done before Saturday! :)

Happy Stitching everyone and celebrate the 4th with Scrap & Sew as we are open on Saturday!

Say Hello to August!

As the summer comes to an end and school starts up again, it should feel like fall, but not here in Florida!  My next workshop is reminiscent of our memories of summer with trips to the beach. The layouts will feature the Country Woods paper pack along with the Seaside Wishes stamp set and dies.   I will mix in the Cape Cod scrapbooking stamp set from Close to My Heart because it matches so well with the theme. Sun and fun activities are the themes of the August layouts, and the grandchildren had a great time at both St. Augustine and Clearwater beaches. Day 12 of Christmas Stitching

Day 12 - A quick and easy gift idea is this napkin holder made from an 'in the hoop' quilt block. This is the Diva class for December and the class for Saturday has been changed to December 22nd.  So there is still time to sign up and finish it before Christmas. This napkin holder starts as a basic 8" block found in the Quilt selection of my icon.  I then added the Star #4 design from the Holiday selection of the machine.  I rotated it and centered it within the block. I love all of the selections in the Holiday category of the icon. You have already seen a number of them stitched up in previous posts these twelve days. I had a small class this morning but both of them finished their project and I even had time to take a picture. Jennifer G used a new gold metallic fabric as the  center design along with the flower B94 on the Epic. This size fits a package of store bought napkins perfectly. Ondrea D design is a combination of Basic Grey fa...

Congratulations on you new machine!  Even if you have owned it for a few years (like me) you have the internal software of a new machine!  The Epic 2 is new to the market but the Epic, Pfaff Creative icon and Viking Designer Embrillance 80 all have been updated in the last few weeks! The Pfaff update was released on April 6, 2020 while the Viking updates were at the end of February. The updates included: a. The ability to read .evp3- format of the mySewnet Library designs.  (This is huge and I am SEW excited!) b.  Support for the Pfaff Design Placement in the Sew Notice app.  Did you watch the FB live event? c.  Support for the NEW creative grand quilter's 260mm x 260mm hoop. If you need help with the update, please reach out to your dealer or you can leave a comment below and I will help you out. Today's topic will be how to get connected to mySewnet.  Once you are connected you will discover the excitement and ease of embroidery wi...
