Day 3 mySewnet Saturday

You know the saying, right?  'If it is free, it's for me!' Well today's blog post is all about the FREE designs on the mySewnet blog. When I turned on the store Epic 2 machine, I was so excited to find this stitched pumpkin appliqué design.

I read the information and downloaded the stitch to the cloud on the machine. One of the features of the machine is the step-by-step tutorial to follow for stitching out these designs.

I was pretty lucky today that I could sew this out in between customers. I cut a length of our wide organza ribbon (did you know we have a few colors of ribbon in the store?) and attached it to a length of sticky back water soluble stabilizer.  I cut several 1 1/2 " squares of orange spotted fabric and threaded the machine with black thread in the top and bottom.

I started sewing and adding the fabric behind the needle for the pumpkin appliqué.  It went rather fast and was fun to stitch.

After I stitched out the length of pumpkins, I then trimmed the fabric around the appliqué and rinsed out the stabilizer.

Now to figure out what to do with ribbon trim.  If you have any ideas, let me know.  I have a few more projects with the designs posted on the blog today so be sure to check back here tomorrow.

Lake Life #1 layout is all about a trip last fall to Mount Dora.  My son participated in a bike race, and they did some 'sightseeing' on the second day.  My grandson Luke's strange photos are from the 'vblog' post he was making.  Not sure if he ever posted it, though. Lake Life layout #2 features my niece and her family on an annual trip to Lake Chautauqua.   Even though it was an overcast day, it sure looked like Emmy had fun! Any day is a good day for eating pizza! Lake Life #3  is the last layout of the paper pack and are a few more pictures of my son's trip to Mount Dora.  They looked like they had a exciting weekend! Take to the Sky is a winner!

This paper pack was the featured one for my first scrapbooking get together in June.  Covid put an end to the monthly gathering, and we are so excited to be together again. This paper pack has a vintage feel with the airplanes, map and clouds design.  but the other side of the paper has a masculine design and colors great for both cards and layouts. The coordinating stamps and dies include phrases which are prefect for birthdays, Father's Day and traveling. The Industrial Trinkets add just the right accent to both layouts and cards My first share today is this layout I made which features the clouds, airplanes, tags and some twine. There are so many ways to use this design. How would you use it?

My share of artwork with this sunny paper is a layout of my son and daughter-in-law on a night out at a modern Mediterraneum restaurant. I began with inspiration from an idea in a Close to My Heart catalog and personalized it. I varied the sizes of the strips, such as 1 1/2" x 10" or 2" x 10", among others. I created a random pattern and then pops of color with 1/2" and 1/4" ...
