Welcome Back!

I have been quiet for almost a year now and many changes have happened since then. My youngest son moved to Colorado and my oldest son moved back to Florida.  I am sad yet happy for both of them.  That leaves me and the 'big guy' still here in Tampa. We are trying to adjust to these changes but life is hard when you feel so alone.  But we are trying very hard (at least I am) to make it work for all of us. In the meantime I have joined Creative Memories as an advisor for a number of reasons.   #1. I am more of a scrapbooker than a card maker and even though both companies offer both options, I prefer the options I have now with Creative Memories. #2.  I no longer want (or need) stamp sets to accent my pages or cards.  Did I say I have an abundance of new, unused stamp sets? #3.  Both companies are great but with so many changes happening, I am going to focus on scrapbooking my memories. I am thoroughly enjoying working with the paper collec...

Take to the Sky is a winner!

This paper pack was the featured one for my first scrapbooking get together in June.  Covid put an end to the monthly gathering, and we are so excited to be together again. This paper pack has a vintage feel with the airplanes, map and clouds design.  but the other side of the paper has a masculine design and colors great for both cards and layouts. The coordinating stamps and dies include phrases which are prefect for birthdays, Father's Day and traveling. The Industrial Trinkets add just the right accent to both layouts and cards My first share today is this layout I made which features the clouds, airplanes, tags and some twine. There are so many ways to use this design. How would you use it?

My share of artwork with this sunny paper is a layout of my son and daughter-in-law on a night out at a modern Mediterraneum restaurant. I began with inspiration from an idea in a Close to My Heart catalog and personalized it. I varied the sizes of the strips, such as 1 1/2" x 10" or 2" x 10", among others. I created a random pattern and then pops of color with 1/2" and 1/4" ...

Say Hello to August!

As the summer comes to an end and school starts up again, it should feel like fall, but not here in Florida!  My next workshop is reminiscent of our memories of summer with trips to the beach. The layouts will feature the Country Woods paper pack along with the Seaside Wishes stamp set and dies.   I will mix in the Cape Cod scrapbooking stamp set from Close to My Heart because it matches so well with the theme. Sun and fun activities are the themes of the August layouts, and the grandchildren had a great time at both St. Augustine and Clearwater beaches. Seaside Wishes Layout 1 Seaside Wishes Layout 2 Seaside Wishes Layout 3 Supplies for the class include the following: 1633393 Country Woods Designer Series Paper 163498 Seaside Wishes Bundle 146985 Petal Pink cardstock or CTMH Peach cardstock- 3 sheets 122924 Pool Party cardstock or CTMH Glacier Cardstock Vanilla or cream cardstock for shells etc.  Espresso or Mocha cardstock for photo mats and accents 2 each ...

Lake Life is a Winner!

Sadly, the last Close to My Heart paper pack is done and ready for class on Saturday, July 20th.  Gather your vacation photos as this paper pack is perfect for any scenes with water. Lake Life #1 layout is all about a trip last fall to Mount Dora.  My son participated in a bike race, and they did some 'sightseeing' on the second day.  My grandson Luke's strange photos are from the 'vblog' post he was making.  Not sure if he ever posted it, though. Lake Life layout #2 features my niece and her family on an annual trip to Lake Chautauqua.   Even though it was an overcast day, it sure looked like Emmy had fun! Any day is a good day for eating pizza! Lake Life #3  is the last layout of the paper pack and are a few more pictures of my son's trip to Mount Dora.  They looked like they had a exciting weekend! The layouts are designed by Close to My Heart and include the directions to complete them.  No extra supplies or inks needed just the ...

June's Selection for Paper Pumpkin is SO Sweet

This month's Paper Pumpkin is Life is Sweet  and feature the new In Colors for 2024 -2026.  Welcome the Colors of Summer Splash, Shy Shamrock, Peach Pie, Pretty in Pink and petunia Pop. I had the perfect pictures for my layout and even though there are not any pictures of cherries, lemons or peaches, it created a layout that has quickly become one of my favorites. I did create three of the cards as designed in the kit, but I also make three of my own designs. The top card is an accordion file card, which is very popular right now on the craft sites.  I did tweek it a bit to make it my own. The two at the bottom are Rachel Tessman's designs, and they fit perfectly with the theme of this month's set. Remember tomorrow is the last day this month to sign up for the August paper Pumpkin kit and it is all about Happy Birthday and CAKE!  I did see a sneak peek of one of the cards and you will want this kit for sure.
