Sending You Love!

As a child, I loved Valentine's Day.  Giving cards to my classmates and decorating the class Valentine box was such a fond memory. I actually still make cards as I am a paper crafter and I love it.  This project by Pfaff blends both of my hobbies into one.

One of the tricks I have discovered is to find the same project on Pfaff Canada. The directions are given on Pfaff USA but sadly the design is no longer a free download.  So for both the design and the directions, click here.

The directions are using 6D Embroidery but I was able to quickly follow the same steps using the Premier+2 software.

 The design is way too large for the 180 x 130 mm metal hoop and the directions are given to shrink it to fit the card size.

I was able to shrink the design and add the sentiment following the directions included in the link.

Since the new machine update and the software update, it is sooo exciting to send my design straight to the software and edit it and send it back to the machine!

 Of course this process can be done on the machine.  Load the design and then select the double butterflies icon, next to the paper airplane icon.  That is the RESIZE and it will recalculate the stitch count.

When you select it reduce the size to 107.4 using the down arrow on the radial button.  Click OK.

Add your wording by selecting the "A" icon and type in "Be My Valentine" using both upper and lower case letters. I selected the Belle font size 10 and the circle below text shape.


Feel free to play around with the font and text shapes to achieve the wording you like.


I used a Cut Away stabilizer and felt and hooped it in the 180 x 130 mm hoop.  The original directions called for a home made paper but I did not have any and adjusted my supplies to fit what I had.  I used a red 50 wt. Aurifil thread rather than polyester but that would certainly work as well.



I embroidered the white felt and red thread with the design created on the machine and the red felt with white thread with the design created in the software.

Day 12 of Christmas Stitching

Day 12 - A quick and easy gift idea is this napkin holder made from an 'in the hoop' quilt block. This is the Diva class for December and the class for Saturday has been changed to December 22nd.  So there is still time to sign up and finish it before Christmas. This napkin holder starts as a basic 8" block found in the Quilt selection of my icon.  I then added the Star #4 design from the Holiday selection of the machine.  I rotated it and centered it within the block. I love all of the selections in the Holiday category of the icon. You have already seen a number of them stitched up in previous posts these twelve days. I had a small class this morning but both of them finished their project and I even had time to take a picture. Welcome to mySewnet!

Congratulations on you new machine!  Even if you have owned it for a few years (like me) you have the internal software of a new machine!  The Epic 2 is new to the market but the Epic, Pfaff Creative icon and Viking Designer Embrillance 80 all have been updated in the last few weeks!
